Bring or rent a bike to explore the area on two wheels; Kendal, Ambleside, and the Lake District National Park have fantastic cycling routes. Head to Coniston Water or Lake Windermere for kayaking, paddleboarding, or canoeing for a day of fun on the water. Visiting The Yorkshire Dales? Another favourite is Bolton Abbey Estate, A sprawling estate along the River Wharfe, featuring the ruins of Bolton Priory, scenic walks, and a variety of family-friendly activities. A great local Manor to visit is Leven’s Hall in Kendal, home the worlds oldest topiary garden. The privately owned home is also open for tours. Plus the on-site cafe does some delicious cakes!
