What can I expect when I arrive?

When you arrive at The Smithy, you will find a welcome hamper with some treats to enjoy following your journey.  There is a guest information booklet found on the sideboard as you enter, inside you will find details about the property, instructions for appliances, local information and emergency contact info.

What time is check in / check out?

Check in is 1600hrs, and check out is 1000hrs.

Can I ask for late checkout?

Late check out will not be available if new guests are booked for the day you are departing.  However you can enquire and if late check out is possible then a late check out of 1300hrs can secured for an additional fee of £60.

Whats included in my stay?

Upon arrival you will receive a welcome hamper containing some essentials to get you started. The hamper includes: milk, butter, tea-bags, instant coffee, ground coffee, sugar and some extra little indulgences.  We provide a sponge, dish cloth, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets.

We provide two towels for each guest, Egyptian cotton bed linen, and Egyptian cotton robes. 

You will also be provided with some logs to get you started the log burner / Fit Pit / Hot Tub.  Everything you need to heat the pizza oven can be found in the outside storage basket by the Hot tub.

Luxury body wash, shampoo and bubble bath are provided for the showers/baths.

Do you allow parties of young guests or events (e.g. stag or hen parties)?

Sorry, but we do not allow groups of under 21’s to book with us.  We also do not allow any parties or events to be hosted at the property that include anyone not registered in the booking.

Do you have a noise policy?

Yes.  The Smithy is located within the quiet and peaceful community of Patton, so we ask that you are respectful of our neighbours and that you aren't too loud whilst enjoying the property. Please see our terms and conditions for more information on this.

What happens If I need to cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking for a 100% refund up until 5 days before check in.  Between 3-5 days before you will be charged 50% of the booking cost (minus cleaning fee).  Between 0-3 days there will be no refund.

Do you accept dogs?

Yes!  The Smithy is dog-friendly for a maximum of two well behaved dogs that are not moulting heavily. There is an additional fee of £30. Terms and conditions apply, these will be sent to you when you place your booking, please ensure you read these. 

Can we smoke inside the property?

No. We do not allow smoking or vaping inside the property and there are devices that will detect cigarette smoke.

Am I allowed to have guests visit me at the property?

Friends are allowed to visit you in the property.  However, friends are not allowed to stay overnight unless they have been pre-notified to us and are within the maximum number of guests stated on our website. This is an insurance and health & safety concern and is therefore non-negotiable.

Will there be a cot available?

        We can provide a travel cot on request, but we do not provide linen or blankets for babies.  Please note for health and safety reasons we we do not provide an external mattress for the travel cot.  The mattress is built into the cot. 

        Will I have access to WiFi at the property?

        Yes. There are two WiFi zones in the property, please see the guest information booklet for more information on this. 

        What do I do if something isn’t quite right at the property?

        We are a close team and we work tirelessly to ensure that we make every effort to ensure flawless, perfect stays at our properties. Very occasionally, things may not meet our exceptional standards. If this is the case, we would like you to let us know as soon as possible - ideally within 24 hours. This will enable us to investigate the issue and to do our very best to take any necessary action. If you do not tell us (or the housekeeping team), the issue can’t be attended to, and we will assume that everything is running seamlessly for you.

        Is there parking at my chosen property?

        Yes.  There is parking at The Smithy for up to five vehicles.  Detailed instructions will be sent to you prior to check in.

        Do you have an electric car charger?

        We are an eco-friendly property with solar panels and a heat pump but unfortunately we do not have an electric car charger port at this time, although this is something we will be exploring in the future.

        Do we need to clean before we leave?

        We ask that you leave the property in good condition and reasonably tidy – in a similar state to when you arrived.  Our housekeepers will take care of the rest.

        Will the hot tub be heated for my arrival?

        No.  Our wood fired hot tub needs to be heated by the guests.  Instructions on how to do so will be sent to you within the welcome guide.  The Hot Tub takes several hours of tending to a fire to heat, so please bear this in mind before booking.  We will provide a some logs to get you started, however if you wish to use both the indoor log burner and hot tub, you will likely require more.  You can find out where these can be purchased locally in The Guest Information Guide.
